A.E. DOR COGNAC RANGE
In 1858, Amédée-Edouard DOR, scion of an old Cognac family, embarked upon the unusual and painstaking task that was to occupy the whole of his life. His passion was for Cognacs of noble distinction. With dogged determination, he hunted, selected and collected the finest Cognacs. After decades (70 years and more) of ageing in oak casks, free from mixture or admixture, some of these venerable cognacs from the Grande Champagne area – whence the best Cognacs come – were carefully decanted, once their aroma had reached its fullest ripeness, into wax-sealed demijohns, where they could be preserved and conserved intact. Today, these glass vessels hold the precious nectars hostage there where they slumber in a secret cellar known as “Paradise”, where nothing has changed since its creation, and where they proudly display their prestigious vintages. The pride of our firm, an incomparable heritage of vintage cognacs dating generally from before the time when the dreaded phylloxera struck in 1874, they have kept their precious contents intact for more than a century and a half, and justified the standard of our worldwide renown. They are the heart of Cognac A.E.DOR.

Tasting Notes
NOSE A rich combination of toffee and fruit rolls out of the glass – sultanas, stewed apples and freshly sliced, ripe pears. Soft spice, barley sugar and vanilla sponge cake sit underneath, with hints of caramel sauce. PALATE Sharper than expected, with Granny smith apples joined by sultanas, plump raisins and Muscat grapes. The toffee and barley sugar continue with hints of citrus – sherbert pips and lemon chews. Behind everything is a warming bed of woody spice. FINISH Fruity and lingering, with toffee quickly fading to reveal orchard fruit and cinnamon spice. COMMENT A bold Cognac, with acres of fruit and controlled spiciness. A rounded and easy drinking spirit.
VSOP Rare Fine Champagne

Alcohol: 40.0% 750ml
Tasting Notes
NOSE Initially earthy, with rich and sweet tobacco, and a gentle note of charred oak. Fruit develops, with sweet and sour grapes and raisins, joined by a savoury note that gives the bouquet a weight and almost meaty character. PALATE Big fruit and spice to start, with the raisins and grapes from the nose enhanced by soft nutmeg, cinnamon and fragrant black tea. Caramel sweetness sits underneath providing a backbone, slowly turning darker, bringing in oaky spice and clove hints. FINISH Lingering, sweetened black tea with soft hints of fresh and dried vine fruit. COMMENT A complex VSOP, with herbal and spicy notes mingling with fruit and well-selected oak. The texture is thick and rich, giving a luxurious mouth feel that complements the flavour.
Napoléon Cognac
Age: 17 Years
A.E.Dor Napoléon is a perfect blend of three different growths. It mixes the maturity of the Petite Champagne, the vigour and vivacity of the Borderies and the finesse and length of the Grande Champagne. Spicy tones with a light touch of vanilla in the nose.
The characteristics of this Cognac are well-rounded and mellow.
Aged in dry cellar.
Alcohol: 40.0% 750ml
Tasting Notes
NOSE Brown sugar and Danish pastries – with crème anglaise and raisins – lead the nose. Balancing that is a gentle sourness – toffee-coated sharp green apples – and behind it all lies a plump sultana sweetness. PALATE Intensely sweet at first, with Demerara caramel and golden syrup. The sweetness is swiftly tempered by gently sappy oak, burnt raisins and soft spice – nutmeg and allspice. FINISH Sweet and sour fruit, with long and lingering leathery undertones. COMMENT Balanced fruit sweetness and cask-derived dryness, neither hiding the quality of AE Dor’s excellent spirit.

Notes of peach, apricot, even apple, honey, coffee and woody spice combined. FINISH Complex, layered, velvety. Silky texture with sweet and earthy crème brûlée finish. COMMENT Well rounded maturity, a delicately structured, yet alluringly rich blend of Cognacs from both Petite and Grande Champagne.
